What we will not post

This board is short on purpose. Here is what keeps a role off it, and why.

A role with no salary band. If a client cannot say what the work is worth, they have not finished deciding what the work is.

A role with no scorecard. If nobody can write down what good looks like before the interviews start, the decision comes down to who the panel warmed to.

A senior title on junior scope. The title on the contract should still make sense on your next CV.

A junior role with no named mentor. Not a buddy system on paper. A person, with time protected in their calendar.

A process still being invented. If the stages are not agreed before the first candidate applies, they will grow, and they will grow around you.

A role where we have not been told the hard part. Every job has one. A manager who will not name it either does not know it, or is hoping you will not ask.

A role tagged remote that needs you on site. If the bench, the lab or the customer is in a building, the ad says which building and how often. Remote means no required site days.

A contract whose employer is a surprise. If you would be on an agency's payroll rather than the company's, the ad says so in the first lines. You find out before you apply, not at the offer.

A hardware role that wants one person to be a whole department. Analog, digital, firmware, layout and mechanical in a single spec is a hiring plan that has not been finished. We ask the manager which parts matter and post those.

A role where nobody will say why the last person left. Sometimes the answer is dull. When a manager will not give it, the answer is usually the hard part they also did not name.

If you find something on this board that breaks one of these, tell us. We will take it down and say what happened.
