Working principles

What we will not do

Recruitment works when your team can be clear about the role, the evidence and who makes the decision.

These are Jonathan's stated principles for embedded recruitment.

What I will not do

  • Work contingency or success-fee-only.
  • Compete on speed at the cost of quality.
  • Sell a candidate to convince a team to hire them.
  • Recruit a role with no clear scope, no owner, and no decision criteria.
  • Auto-reject a person. A decision about a person is made by a person, with a reason written down.
  • Guarantee a client's compliance. I can build the thing that makes it defensible. Their legal responsibility stays theirs and I say so out loud.

These principles apply to embedded recruitment. We also offer a placement-fee model to companies that ask for one, and we tell you which one you are being quoted before anything is signed. Read how our fee models work.
